How They're Made

Metalog tools are handmade by skilled workers with disabilities. Together with Caritas (a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with various social disadvantages), we ensure fair wages are paid in exchange for quality craftsmanship to people who may otherwise face challenges finding employment. The workshop is located near the company's headquarters in Bavaria, Germany.

In 2018, Metalog received the Sustainable Development Award of Agenda 21, the UN’s global action plan adopted at the 1992 Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro. The jury's decision was based on three key factors: our use of wood as a renewable raw material, our highly efficient work practices and our partnership with a charitable institution.

This award reinforces our commitment to an approach to manufacturing that is sustainable for the environment and makes a positive impact on society.
